Advertising costs money, the wnba has never been profitable therefore they can’t afford to advertise. They have to take subsidies from the nba to pay their players. This is not a difficult concept to grasp yet their main argument was that the wnba is underrepresented. Nobody is going to advertise the league for free.

The media will report what’s popular and of interest to people, advertisers will have more interest if there’s more viewership, it’s a commercial model that’s dependent on numbers. The example used of the basket ball coach with “high style, high fashion” by the one viewer and not about the sport itself is indicative of the problem.
